Rabbi Dr. Ruelf, Chief Rabbi of the Saar, who has issued a manifesto protesting against anti-Jewish acts in the Saar, is leaving for Palestine, it was announced here today. He will leave the Saar January 1, almost two weeks before the plebiscite takes place.

The decision to leave was made by the Chief Rabbi after it became known that the Nazis had agreed to guarantee Jewish rights in the Saar for one year only. Hundreds of Jewish families in the Saar will follow the Chief Rabbi before the year is over.

The National Sick Insurance League issued an announcement here emphasizing that no Jews will be admitted into the League under any conditions.

“Our enterprise,” the announcement reads, “was established only by National Socialists. The members of our boards are exclusively ‘Aryans.’ We do not admit Jews to our Fund under any conditions.”

The announcement states that after three years of existence the League has 70,000 insured members.
