Clashes between the anti-Semitic “European Political Party” of Algeria and other organized political groups broke out today in Tiaret, near Oran, resulting in the serious wounding of one person and light injuries to another.

During the clashes, a Jew, it is charged, fired his revolver. The police intervened in time to prevent the clashes from developing into a serious outbreak.

The police authorities in Oran, disturbed by the fight in Tiaret, have started an investigation into the causes of the disturbances. The authorities in Algeria are anxious to check any possible outbreaks in order to prevent anti-Jewish riots on a large scale similar to the one which took place last year in Constantine and in other sections of Algeria.

The French Governor General of Algieria communicated with the authorities in Oran asking for a detailed report on the clashes in Tiaret.
