A court in Karlsruhe today sentenced Martin Hauswirth, an “Aryan,” to eight months in prison for having falsely accused his cousin, a servant girl, of living with her Jewish employer and maintaining improper relations with his two sons.

The court pointed out that Hauswirth’s false accusation of “Rassenschande” (racial defilement), made in public, had contributed to “public restlessness.” The Jewish employer, who had been arrested following the denunciation, was freed after an inquiry had established that Hauswirth’s slanders were inspired by jealousy.

Meanwhile, the German press reported today the “protective” arrest in Friesenheim, near Stuttgart, of a leading board member of the town’s synagogue on charges of “Rassenschande.” His name was not disclosed.
