The draft of an ordinance prohibiting employment of children under sixteen years of age and employment of women in hazardous occupations was published today in the Government gazette.

The gazette also announced a new law empowering the High Commissioner to name an examiner for Palestine’s banks. F.G. Horwill was temporarily appointed to the post.

Concerning immigration, the gazette disclosed that 4,312 Jews entered the country in December, 286 of them possessing $5,000 or more.

Licenses were issued to 293 Jewish physicians in December.

It was learned that approximately 2,100 Jewish immigrants entered Palestine in January.
