Warning was given yesterday of the dangerous rise of Fascist tendencies in the United States in a report of the committee on social services issued at the opening of the fifty-fourth annual conference of the Presbyterian Synod of New York.
“We need not be alarmists to recognize this danger, which comes not only from influences emanating in countries living under dictatorships
in Europe but also springs from certain tendencies in American life which, if they continue, will assuredly modify or perhaps destroy the representative form of government,” the report asserted.
