TENSION WAS HIGH TODAY FOLLOWING A WEEK-END OF VIOLENCE FEATURED BY BOMBING OF A SOCIALIST YOUTH PARADE, IN WHICH TWENTY PERSONS WERE WOUNDED, AND A COMBINED BOMB AND PISTOL ATTACK ON A CROWDED BUND (JEWISH LABOR PARTY) CLUB HOUSE, RESULTING IN SERIOUS WOUNDS TO THREE OTHERS.

ENDEKS (NATIONAL DEMOCRATS) ARE SUSPECTED OF HAVING THROWN A BOMB INTO THE SOCIALIST PARADE AS IT WAS PASSING THROUGH NEUWEL STREET HERE YESTERDAY. FIVE OF THOSE WOUNDED ARE REPORTED IN A SERIOUS CONDITION. THE PARADE WAS PART OF A NATIONWIDE DEMONSTRATION SPONSORED BY THE POLISH SOCIALIST PARTY, DIRECTED AGAINST TERRORISM BY EXTREMISTS.

POLICE WERE REPORTED TO HAVE ARRESTED A YOUNG JEW IN CONNECTION WITH THE BOMBING OF THE SOCIALIST DEMONSTRATION ALTHOUGH THE PREVALENT BELIEF WAS THAT A FASCIST WAS RESPONSIBLE. GAZETA POLSKA AND OTHER PAPERS STRONGLY CONDEMNED THE TWO BOMB OUTRAGES.

A GROUP OF WELL-DRESSED TERRORISTS CARRIED OUT THE BOMB AND PISTOL ATTACK ON THE JEWISH CLUB, IN DLUGAS STREET. FOLLOWING THE EXPLOSION OF SOME SEVEN TO NINE BOMBS, TWO OF WHICH WERE OF A HIGH EXPLOSIVE CHARACTER, THE TERRORISTS POURED A VOLLEY OF ABOUT THIRTY PISTOL SHOTS INTO PERSONS FLEEING FROM THE CLUBHOUSE. THE THREE WOUNDED WERE REMOVED TO A HOSPITAL AND IMMEDIATELY PUT UPON THE OPERATING TABLE FOR REMOVAL OF BULLETS.

AMONG THE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED ARE THE WIFE OF THE POLISH CARETAKER AND TWO JEWISH CLOTHING WORKERS, MEYER TRAUB, 18, AND HERSH DUZO, 20. SEVERAL OF THE PROJECTILES THROWN BY THE TERRORISTS WERE SMOKE BOMBS AND TWO OTHERS WERE INCENDIARY. LATER, TINS OF GASOLINE AND GAS-SOAKED RAGS WERE FOUND NEAR THE CLUB HOUSE. FIRE SET BY THEM WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED.

THE OFFICES OF THE JEWISH-POLISH NEWSPAPER “5 RANO” (5 A.M.) WERE SAVED FROM DESTRUCTION LAST NIGHT BY THE TIMELY DISCOVERY OF A DYNAMITE BOMB ON THE PREMISES.

SATURDAY NIGHT, THE HAVAS NEWS AGENCY REPORTS, SMOULDERING DISSENSION BETWEEN EXTREME RIGHTIST GROUPS BROKE INTO THE OPEN WHEN A BAND OF 30 ARMED YOUTHS WEARING THE UNIFORMS OF COL. ADAM KOC’S NATIONAL UNION PARTY’S YOUTH ORGANIZATION RAIDED THE OFFICES OF “A.B.C,” NARA ORGAN, CUT THE TELEPHONE WIRES, BEAT UP THE EDITORIAL STAFF AND WRECKED THE OFFICE FURNITURE.
