THE DANZIG VOLKSTAG WILL ON TUESDAY PROCLAIM EXTENSION OF THE GERMAN NUREMBERG MARRIAGE AND CITIZENSHIP LAWS TO THE FREE CITY, IT WAS REPORTED HERE TODAY.

THE SWASTIKA WILL BE ADOPTED AS THE CITY’S FLAG AND THE NAZI PARTY WILL BE DECLARED THE ONLY LEGAL PARTY, POLISH NEWSPAPERS SAID. (PREVIOUS REPORTS HAD INDICATED THAT A POLISH PARTY WOULD ALSO BE PERMITTED.)

THE ANTI-JEWISH DRIVE CONTINUED, MEANWHILE, IN THE FREE CITY, WITH A NUMBER OF JEWS IN DANZIG AND NEARBY ZOPPOT ARRESTED AND THEIR PROPERTY CONFISCATED.

THE POLISH GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED THAT IT HAD SENT A NEW PROTEST TO THE NAZI AUTHORITIES OF DANZIG AGAINST RECENT ASSAULTS ON POLISH CITIZENS, WITH A DEMAND FOR COMPENSATION, THE HAVAS NEWS AGENCY REPORTED. POLISH CITIZENS OF DANIG HAVE SUFFERED PARTICULARLY DURING ANTI-SEMITIC RIOTS. LAST TUESDAY FOUR WERE SERIOUSLY INJURED WHEN NAZI STORM TROOPERS INVADED THE SUBURB OF PIEKLO, BEATING UP THE POLES AND SACKING THEIR HOMES. POLAND’S PROTEST WAS SENT TO THE DANZIG SENATE THROUGH MARIAN CHODACKI, POLISH COMMISSIONER IN THE FREE CITY.
