A World Jewish Congress petition asking the League Council to apply urgent procedure (which means immediate action) to reestablish the Rumanian Jews in their rights was submitted to Secretary-General Joseph Avenol. The petition consists of eight pages and is accompanied by appendices of more than 100 pages which describe the position of Rumania’s Jews and enumerate Premier Otavian Goga’s latest anti-Jewish measures. The document cites statistics prepared by the League and Rumania.
