Secretary of State Cordell Hull denied any knowledge today that Fascist bands in Mexico were being armed by German Nazis, as reported by Representative Jerry O’Connell, of Montana, in an interview in Los Angeles. O’Connell had declared that Nazis were supplying arms, and ammunition to Mexican Fascist bands and predicted a Fascist uprising in two months. He said an army of 100,000 was forming in the Guadalupe hills of Mexico.
