Mexico Denies Inviting Refugees

The Interior Department has denied a report that 500 Austrian Jews were coming to Mexico as refugees. An official statement said Mexico did not wish competitors for her industrial and farm workers and merchants, but added: “To the politically persecuted showing clearly that their lives or liberty are endangered, our country will always generously open its doors.”
