For the first time since the outbreak of the civil war, the Jewish community of Barcelona today held elections for its executive committee. Edmundo Gruenbaum was re-elected president, and a slate of four Sephardic Jews and four Ashkenazic Jews was elected. The mixed list was opposed by a slate composed entirely of Sephardim.
