The Chief Rabbinate proclaimed prayers at five o’clock this afternoon for Shlomo Ben-Josef, who is under death sentence for firing on an Arab bus, and called for the closing of cafes and other places of entertainment during the service. A Jewish policeman and two Zionist-Revisionists were injured last night, the latter being arrested, when police broke up a parade of 200 revisionists, who had been joined by several hundred on lookers, to demand the release of Ben-Josef. The Tel Aviv Municipal Council appealed to High Commissioner Sir Harold Alfred MacMichael for clemency on behalf of the condemned youth.
