The refugees comprised survivors of the Panamanian steamship Rim which was destroyed by fire last month off the Italian island of Rhodes in addition to other Jews expelled from Rhodes all of whom embarked at the island on the Greek steamer Aghios Incholaus and were transferred to the smaller craft 30 miles of Palestine’s coast.
