The German newspaper Essener National Zeitung reports that the population of Bratislava “welcomes” segregation of Jews in the Slovakian capital and restriction of most of the city’s cafes to “Aryans” only.
There cafes, the paper declares, have been reserved exclusively for Jews. Ten others reportedly admit both Jewish and “Aryan” patrons and 15 have posted signs that Jews are not wanted.
These measures, the Nazi paper asserts, have been welcomed by the population and are in accord with demands by Sano Mach, leader of the Fascist Hlinka Guards and Minister of Propaganda. The paper declares that the entire Slovak press urges a radical solution of the “Jewish problem” in Slovakia.
