Sharp Profits Rise Reported by Palestine Potash Company

The Palestine Potash Company today reported net profits in 1939 of L175,253, representing an increase of L107,097 over the 1938 income. The tonnage of potash salts sold increased 33 per cent over 1938, while bromine sales rose 18 per cent, the company reported.

Since the war Palestine has become the chief source of potash supply to the Allies and neutral countries, German, Russian and Polish potash being out of the market while Spanish mines have not yet been restored since the Civil War.
