Ilgwu Convention Demands Open Doors for Jews in Palestine, “free Ports” in U.S.

A resolution demanding the revocation of the British White Paper which closed the doors of Palestine to Jewish immigration, was adopted here last night at the convention of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, which has a large Jewish membership and is one of the strongest labor unions in the country.

The convention also called for the establishment of “free ports” for refugees in the United States. The resolution criticizing the White Paper emphasizes that “in these times, when Jews are being annihilated by the Nazi barbarians, we consider it criminal to have the doors of Palestine closed for those who can still save themselves from Nazi hands.”
