As a result of the recent pogroms in Poland, Jews who had planned to emigrate from there within the next two months are flocking to Paris from where they hope to migrate to any country where they can start their lives anew without fear of pogroms, according to a cable received from the Paris office of Hias.

The Hias had succeeded in arranging passage for many of these Jews on ships sailing within the next 60 days, but the recent influx from Poland has swamped the organization’s facilities in Paris, the cable said. It added that the refugees are arriving destitute and that Hias is feeding and housing them until arrangements can be made for their transfer.
