Truman Reported “very Hopeful” on U.N. Accoptance of Partition

President ##ruman is “very hopeful” that a ##aceful solution of the Palestine situation will be reached and that the partition plan will go through in the General Assembly, Rabbi Samuel Thurman of St. Louis, told reporters after a call at the White House this morning. The President also told him ## was quite sure the Jews and Arabs can live tegether harmoniously, the Rabbi said.
