A two-day annual meeting of the executive board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations closed here last night after deciding to postpone action on a proposal to change the name of the organization to the Union of Liberal Synagogues.
The matter was put off until the next executive board meeting and will also be discussed at the U.A.H.C. biennial meeting next year. The name change was suggested by a committee headed by Rabbi James G. Heller of Cincinnati.
