U.N. Mediation Headquarters in Palestine Transferred from Haifa to Jerusalem

The transfer of the headquarters of the United Nations mediation mission in Palestine from Haifa to Jerusalem was completed yesterday, it was announced by U.N. headquarters here today.

The offices of the chief of staff will be situated at Government House in the neutralized area between the Arab and Jewish lines in Jerusalem, in the home of the former British High Commissioner which also houses the Conciliation Commission Staff. The mixed armistice commission, which supervises the terms of the armistice concluded between Israel and Transjordan, is also centered at Government House, which this now becomes the fecal point of U.N. activities in Palestine.
