Rabbi Morris Lazaron, one of the leaders of the American Council for Judaism, has resigned as rabbi emeritus of the Hebrew Congregation of Baltimore, it was reported here today. The report said that the resignation was precipitated by a conflict which began when the synagogue’s board of directors requested Rabbi Lazaron to avoid attacking Zionism in his sermons. Rabbi Lazaron, according to the report, refused to head the request.

(The Jewish Telegraphic Agency tried unsuccessfully to reach Rabbi Larazon in Baltimore for a statement, but was informed that he is out of town for several weeks, vacationing in South Carolina.)
