“The United Nations would commit a crime of first magnitude if it ordered the Israel Army to evacuate Jerusalem, leaving the city defenseless and easy prey to further invasion,” Rabbi Wolf Gold, world Mizrachi leader and chairman of the Jerusalem Developments Commission of the Jewish Agency, last night told a meeting of national leaders of the American Mizrachi.

Rabbi Gold, who is also a member of the three-man praesidium of the World Mizrachi Organization, declared that “it is obvious that no nation in the world is willing or prepared to safeguard the Holy City against another invasion, and therefore no nation has the moral right to tell Israel’s forces to leave that city. No power today,” he added, “can guarantee that Jerusalem will not again be invaded by the enemy.”
