Dr. Aron Syngalowski, chairman of the executive of the World ORT Union, said here today upon his return from a four-week visit to Israel that he was very satisfied with the development of the ORT programs in the Jewish state. The ORT vocational training projects were initiated in Israel a year ago. He predicted a 2,000-student enrollment in ORT schools in Israel in the near future.

The ORT leader also reported that Premier David Ben Gurion promised to pay a visit to ORT installations at the earliest opportunity, while Minister of Education Zalman Shazar agreed to place the ORT schools on an equal footing with other Israel schools. Dr. Syngalowski said the Israel Education Minister also agreed to grant subsidies to the ORT centers although, he said, for the “moment they are of symbolic value only.”
