House Gets Bill on Recognizing Israel’s Independence Day in United States

A bill to recognize Israel’s Independence Day, introduced in the House yesterday by Rep. Arthur G. Klein of New York, was referred to the House-Judiciary Committee. The bill recommended that President Truman be authorized by Congress to proclaim the day for appropriate observance.
