The Joint Distribution Committee will provide up to $1,000,000 in the coming year–depending on the income of the United Jewish Appeal–for work of the ORT under an agreement signed today. In the agreement, the J.D.C. guarantees a minimum of $850,000 for ORT’s 1952 programs in Europe and North Africa, with the increased sum dependent on the collections of the U.J.A., from which J.D.C. receives its funds. The pact provides that the ORT will not conduct any independent fund-raising campaigns in the U.S.
