A gift of $170,000 from the estate of the late Florina Lasker, civic and social worker, was made today to Hadassah to mark the 40th anniversary of Hadassah’s founding. The presentation was made to Mrs. Samuel J. Rosensohn, national president of Hadassah, at a celebration attended by the organization’s National Board at its headquarters here. Mrs. Rosensohn is a sister of Miss Lasker, who died in 1949.

Reviewing Hadassah’s 40-year history Mrs. Rosensohn said: “It was good to realize that the structure Hadassah had erected during these stirring decades was worthy of the firm foundations laid by Henrietta Szold and her co-workers. Their criteria were always the needs of the country at a given time, a keen desire to pioneer in new and unknown fields, a flexibility of program and a willingness to turn over a going project to the community, at such time as the local organizations could carry on and develop the work.”
