Both houses of the New Jersey state legislature adopted identical resolutions condemning the Soviet Union for “beastly and inhumane” persecution of Jews in the Communist countries. The resolution also urged President Eisenhower, the State Department and Congress to condemn the persecution and “use every means at their command” to halt it.
