Pinkhas Gingold, Noted Jewish Educator, Dies in New York

Pinkhas Gingold, noted Jewish educator and director of the Cultural Department of the Jewish National Labor Alliance-Farband, died here today. He was 59 years old.

Born in Grodno, Russia, he came to the United States at the age of 16 and became active in the American Zionist labor movement. For many years he was director of the Jewish Teachers Seiminary in New York, of which he was one of the founders. Later he became director of the Central School Committee of the Zionist labor movement and head of the education department of the Farband, a Labor Zionist fraternal order. He was one of the founders of the Jewish Legion.
