Pinchos Jassinowsky, Jewish Composer, Dies in New York

Funeral services were held here today for Pinchos Jassinowsky, composer and well known cantor, who died here at the age of 68. Onetime president of the Jewish Cantors and Ministers Association, Mr. Jassinowsky wrote the “Prophecy of Isaiah” to commemorate the opening of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1925, He was born in the Ukraine, and immigrated to the United States in 1917.
