Establishment of a Cantorial Training Institute at Yeshiva University to prepare professionally cantors for traditional synagogues in the United States and Canada was announced here today by Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of the University.

The newest division of America’s first university under Jewish auspices is to open this month offering programs leading to Cantorial Diplomas and Associate Cantors Certificates. An outgrowth of the University’s Cantorial Workshop, established in 1951, the Institute will serve both students of the various schools of Yeshiva University and the community-at-large.
