The progress of American Jewry is the “dramatic cavalcade of all time,” Lt. Gov. Sumner G. Whittier declared yesterday during exercises at historic Faneuil Hall here marking the beginning of Boston Jewry’s celebration of the American Jewish Tercentenary.

Another speaker, Municipal Judge Jennie L. Barron, said that “despite social ostracism, tyrants and dictators, the Jews have survived because of their burning passion for freedom and equality for all races.”
