Israel and Cuba signed this week-end a trade pact giving Israel the status of a “most favored nation.” The agreement, signed at the Cuban Foreign Ministry by David Shaltiel, Israel’s Minister to Cuba, provides for Israel to purchase Cuban sugar and sell a number of Israeli products in Cuba, chiefly textiles and plywood.
