The American Jewish Press Association announced today re-dedication of the services of its member English-Jewish weeklies “to the great humanitarian program of the United Jewish Appeal and the agencies which function under its financial sponsorship.”

Declaring in a resolution, approved at the Association’s annual convention, that it was the task of the publishers “to create a willing acceptance of the responsibility that must be accepted by American Jewry, ” the Association added that the “emergency” facing the Jewish people could not be considered conquered until all Jews “are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives.”

In another resolution, the Association hailed the contributions of retiring Israel Ambassador Abba Eban “to the stature of world Jewry, and especially to the development of a finer and more sincere regard for the Republic of Israel.”
