Dr. Marcos Moshinsky, world famous nuclear scientist and professor of physics at the University of Mexico since 1949, was awarded today one of the Government’s three annual prizes for scientific research.

The 40-year-old Jewish scientist, who was born in Russia and brought here by his parents when a child, was given the award by Mexico’s President Adolfo Lopez Mateos at a colorful, special convocation at the university here. Dr. Moshinsky is a son of Israel Moshinsky, one of the leaders of the Jewish religious school, Yavne, and a grandson of the founder of that institution.
