Secretary Ribicoff to Address Jewish Federations on Welfare, Education

Abraham A, Ribicoff, Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, will address the 30th annual General Assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds Saturday evening, November 18, at the Statler Hilton Hotel, Dallas, Texas, it was announced today by Irving Kane, Council president.

The former Governor of Connecticut is expected to bring to the Assembly an analysis of the Administration’s basic program for the continuing advancement of the health, welfare and education of the American people and the measures required to assure that advancement. This will help spell out the fundamental ways in which the government and voluntary agencies can work together.

The major questions on the agenda of the three-day Assembly involve the future directions for Jewish health, welfare, education and culture services, the immediate and long range overseas tasks and objectives of American Jewry, and the mobilization of local federations and welfare funds for the imminent 1962 fund-raising campaigns. Secretary Ribicoff’s address will be the climax of the Assembly which will bring more than 1,000 representatives from all parts of the United States and Canada to Dallas.
