The national executive of the Farband Labor Zionist Organization has decided to build a cultural and education center to house the organization’s Kineret Day School in the Bronx, which will serve as a memorial to Louis Segal, the late secretary of the Farband, who died earlier this year, it was announced at a press conference here today.

Shortly before his death, Mr. Segal had proposed the construction of a number of such centers to house the organization’s schools in various parts of the city. The buildings were also to serve as youth and cultural centers. A total of $400,000 had already been raised by Mr. Segal toward the cost of the first such center for the Kineret School.
