Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress, told a meeting of the WJC French section here that actions to ameliorate the plight of Soviet Jewry must continue but he warned again that such protests must never be identified with a kind of anti-Soviet campaign.
The delegates approved a resolution asking that Russian Jews be given the same cultural facilities permitted to other Soviet minorities. The resolution also asked Soviet authorities to permit cultural and religious ties between Soviet Jewry and Jewish groups outside of the Soviet Union.
Another resolution demanded that West Germany ban all groups in that country which propagate Nazi ideologies. Another resolution expressed indignation over the fact that member states of the United Nations were able to threaten another member, Israel, with destruction without being censured by various U.N. bodies, a reference to the action of the Security Council in censuring Israel on November 25 for an action against Jordan on November 13. Andre Neher was unanimously reelected president of the French section. Armand Kaplan was confirmed in his post as general secretary.
