U.S. Secretary of Labor Leaves Israel; Discussed Irrigation Problems

Irrigation problems of Israel and the National Water Carrier created to help meet those problems occupied W. Willard Wirtz, the United States Secretary of Labor, during his two day visit here which ended last night.

The Secretary and Mrs. Wirtz were guests of Labor Minister Yigal Allon at his kibbutz on Lake Tiberias. The guests were taken to the Holy Places on the Sea of Galilce including Capernaum. They later visited the National Water Carrier station at Eshed Kinroth where the entire water program was explained. Mr. Wirtz and his wife also visited Nazareth before proceeding to Tel Aviv where they met Aharon Becker, secretary general of the Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation.
