U.N. Secretary-general Discusses Treatment of Jews in Egypt with Egyptian Envoy

Secretary-General U Thant, using his good offices at the request of Israel, brought up the matter of the persecution of Jews in Egypt, and other Arab countries at a meeting he held today with the Egyptian Ambassador to the United Nations, Mohamed el Kony. Mr. Thant was asked by Israel last week to use his good offices in regard to the persecution of Jews in several Arab countries.
