The author of a new biography of Pope Pius XII claims the wartime pontiff had a deep-rooted anti-Semitism that led him to refuse to openly condemn the Holocaust. Historian John Cornwell cited secret Vatican records and the pope’s own files to support his conclusions in “Hitler’s Pope: The Secret History of Pius XII.”
