Israeli President Ezer Weizman used money after taking office that he had received from a French millionaire, his lawyer said. But the “money transfers stopped” after Weizman became president, Jacob Weinroth told Israel’s Army Radio. During the radio interview, Weinroth confirmed that Weizman had continued to dip into funds from Jewish benefactor Edouard Saroussi after his election in 1993. His comments came as pressure built on Weizman to resign.
