One Jewish group is making a point of not criticizing Pope John Paul II for not referring to the Holocaust in his apology Sunday for past church sins. The American Jewish Congress said it prefers to focus instead on the “profound historic turning point in the church and its own perception of its role and responsibilities in the world.”
