Israel’s interior minister plans to travel to Ethiopia next week to learn more about the situation of the Falash Mura, descendants of Jews who converted to Christianity. Natan Sharansky’s mission follows a recent Israeli Supreme Court decision calling on the government to expedite its processing of the 18,000 Ethiopians congregating in compounds in Addis Ababa and Gondar in hopes that they will be allowed to immigrate to Israel.
