Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman said the Anti- Defamation League misinterpreted his recent statements on religion on the campaign trail. He said he thinks faith can play a “constructive role.” The ADL said it did not believe he should downplay his Jewishness, only that he should “refrain from overt expressions of religious values and beliefs on the campaign trail.”
