Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak is again trying to form a national unity government. Barak spoke with leaders of the opposition Likud, National Religious Party, Shas, Yisrael Ba’Aliyah and Shinui parties. Israel Radio quoted sources close to the prime minister as saying that Barak is not engaged in a political ploy to gain more time for his beleaguered government.
