Criticism of Israel could lead to charges of anti-Semitism and harm Germany’s image abroad, Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder warned. Schroeder said Monday the anti-Israel commentary of the vice president of the Free Democratic Party, Jurgen Mollemann, “must be stopped because it damages Germany in an international context.”
