A German politician created a stir with a reference he made to the yellow stars Jews were forced to wear during the Nazi era. During a legislative debate Thursday about a proposed tax on the wealthy, Roland Koch, governor of the state of Hesse, accused tax proponents of putting a “new form of the star on the chest of the wealthy.”
