After coming under fire for writing a poem insinuating that Jews were behind the Sept. 11 attacks, New Jersey’s poet laureate was appointed to the same position in the Newark school district. The appointment of Amiri Baraka, announced Nov. 26, was criticized by Jewish groups, who learned of the development this week.
