The Palestinian government is distributing a high school textbook that preaches “martyrdom” and “holy war.” The Palestinian Authority is reprinting the book “Islamic Culture,” aimed at 17-year-olds in West Bank schools. The book says a Muslim martyr lives “a life of grace,” and that jihad, or holy war, “has noble and lofty aims,” the London Daily Telegraph reported.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
