European Commission President Romano Prodi proposed that the European Union adopt a Holocaust remembrance day. “This day will be for the victims of the Shoah and the fight against crimes against humanity,” Prodi said Monday. “The memory of the Shoah, a unique and unprecedented tragedy, is a universal value.”
